Geniva Brooks, President, called the meeting to order at 10:00am. She asked Mary Kava to reading the minutes from last meeting. The minutes were approved by Kelli Curtis and seconded by Pat Robertson.
Geniva is trying to get email access for everyone. Cathy Eastin indicated to her that people need their supervisor= s approval. Geniva looked to see if there was a policy stating this but found nothing. She will wait until she goes to the next Cabinet Meeting and get a firm answer from them.
We can work our Craft Fair Scholarship event in two ways:
They would be responsible for their own set up. If they plan to serve food, they will have to have a handler= s permit. We will make sure that the tables will be available and have power available to the ones who need it at their booths.
The hours will be Friday 11 to 8 pm and Saturday 9 am to 3 pm. We will not be responsible for theft. The name of our fair will be CEU Holiday Craft Fair.
Lannie Richards wondered if we would be sponsoring a booth? Geniva suggested we could.
Geniva will advertise in the Horsetrader, Nickel Ads, Sun Advocate, and radio stations. She plans on going up State to see if any of the crafters would be interested in coming to Price for our two-day fair.
Mary Kava and Kelli Curtis volunteered to help Geniva with the advertising.
Kelli Curtis brought up the cafeteria hours. Why aren= t they open at 11 am? Rosemary indicated the reason was the staffing.
Geniva went over the termination policy. Mary Kava said that it may not follow fair labor laws.
The only difference between Classified staff and Professional staff is that the Professional staff are not entitled to overtime or comp time and they receive more vacation time.
Professional receive 1 month= s notice on termination and the Classified receive 10 days notice.
Steps for termination are not clear and there is no time frame mentioned in the policy.
They need to change the description of positions. Evaluations are not being done on an yearly basis any more. It has been several years since anyone has been evaluated.
Geniva will take this information back to the committee.
Geniva had a drawing which Cosmetology donated. It was a free hair cut and conditioner treatment with a bottle of lotion. Pat Robertson came up the lucky winner.
The Costume Party committee is:
Amy Lauritsen, Robyn Snow, Darla Cloward and Vicki Noyes
Meeting was adjourned at 11 am.
